When Running has created this FAQ section to help people find answers to questions they might have about us and our website. If you don't see an answer to your particular question please feel free to contact us. We have provided several ways below to send us your questions, comments or concerns.
1) How do I get my reviews quoted on When Running?
When Running gathers reviews from a group of When Running approved review sites. If you are a reviewer of treadmills and ellipticals and want to be added as an approved reviewer on our site, please contact us so we can include you in our scoring system.
We gather the treadmill and elliptical reviews from about 50 different When Running approved sites that review them; either by checking their sites or having the reviewers or webmasters submit the review to us.
3) Do you write your own reviews?
Yes, we do, but only occasionally. Most of the time, we're just too busy operating this site. Our focus right now is to provide an unbiased snapshot of all the reviews for treadmills and ellipticals.
4) What is the Average Score?
The Average Rating is an average of the individual reviewer's scores, based on a 1-10 scale. Each review is weighted equally so there is no bias to any individual reviewer.
5) How are the Top Picks chosen?
The When Running Top Picks are chosen using a few variables. The first thing we take into consideration is the When Running Scores of the treadmills or ellipticals. We also look at how many reviewers reviewed that product. The more reviewers that reviewed a product will reflect a more accurate When Running Score. The last thing we look at is the sales history of the different treadmills and ellipticals. Using all this information, we provide a list of treadmills and ellipticals that we feel are the When Running Top Picks.

Each site that reviews treadmills and ellipticals has their own scoring system. When Running takes that score and converts it to our own When Running Score, which is between 1-10. For sites that provide a number score, we just mathematically convert the score to a 1-10 score. For sites that don't provide a number score, When Running creates a conversion score that we think the reviewer would give based on the review that is written. In some cases the reviewer will give us a conversion score to use on our site. This is the ideal way because it makes our When Running score more authentic. We then take all the scores that were gathered for that particular treadmill or elliptical and average it out to come up with our When Running Score for that product. Each reviewer is weighted equally, so take no favoritism when coming up with the When Running Score. You can check our When Running Score simply by averaging out any of the products scores on the review page.
8) How do we know your reviews are objective or fair?
The When Running score is an average score for all the reviews of a particular treadmill of elliptical. The Average Rating is an average of the individual reviewer's scores, based on a 1-10 scale. Each review is weighted equally so there is no bias to any individual reviewer. There is a link to every reviewer’s review page of that product so you can see exactly what he or she said about the product.
9) Who is When Running In Place?
When Running is fully owned and operated by 4MoreHits.com, LLC, a San Diego based company that specializes in Search Engine Optimization and Web Marketing. This site has no relationship with any of the other review sites that we include on our site.
